Unemployment falls to 9 year low

5/27/2016
WALKER COUNTY JUST REGISTERED THE LOWEST UNEMPLOYMENT RATE IN 9 YEARS!

*   WALKER COUNTY JUST REGISTERED THE LOWEST UNEMPLOYMENT RATE IN 9 YEARS… AN EVEN 5 PERCENT IN APRIL… ACCORDING TO THE GEORGIA DEPARTMENT OF LABOR.

ALL AREA COUNTIES WERE DOWN FROM MARCH FIGURES.   DADE COUNTY DROPPED TO 4.4 PERCENT… AND CATOOSA COUNTY FELL TO 4.6 PERCENT.

WHITFIELD COUNTY… THE HIGHEST UNEMPLOYMENT AREA IN THE STATE FOR THE PAST SEVERAL YEARS… HAS NOW FALLEN TO JUST 5.2 PERCENT… ALONG WITH THE SAME FIGURE FOR CHATTOOGA COUNTY.

TRADITIONALLY, ECONOMISTS HAVE CONSIDERED 5 PERCENT AS “NEARING FULL EMPLOYMENT”… MEANING THAT ALMOST EVERYONE WHO WANTS A JOB, CAN GET ONE.

AGAIN… WALKER COUNTY’S LATEST UNEMPLOYMENT RATE FELL TO THE LOWEST LEVEL SINCE THE FALL OF 2007… FROM 5.6 PERCENT IN MARCH, TO 5 PERCENT IN APRIL.
